It was a day of very few changes around the island as the fantastic calm easterlies continued. The Pink-footed Geese seem to be content in the North West Fields, obviously finding enough food to keep them glued to the three stubble fields there. One of the Bullfinches ringed prior still remained in the Observatory garden, calling whilst net rounds were being conducted during a mornings ringing session. A Goldfinch and four Chaffinches were the only other finches of the day. A few thrushes were scattered around the island, seven Blackbirds, a Fieldfare, four Song Thrushes and nine Redwings, a stunning adult male Sparrowhawk hunted around Nant which was also home to three Goldcrests flitting about the Plantation, the same Blue Tit, 180 Starlings and two Little Owls calling up on the mountainside.
