The Melodious Warbler lingered on at
Cristin, no doubt enjoying the lovely weather of late. A Long-eared Owl seen at Nant could have been the bird present last
week but currently views have not conclusively seen a ring on the bird’s leg.
A
variety of migrants recorded inland sum to one Tree Pipit, one Reed Warbler,
two Whitethroats, one Blackcap, three Chiffchaffs, 18 Willow Warblers, 11 Goldcrests, and two Spotted
Flycatchers whilst two Ringed Plovers, nine Purple Sandpipers, four Dunlins, three Snipes,
11 Redshanks, eight Common Sandpipers, and a massive 75 Turnstones
were logged on the Narrows. Sea-watching produced 18 Common Scoters, one Arctic Skua, and a fine Pomarine
Skua bombing northwards.
